THE IN-TRAY

Margot Robbie’s best red-carpet beauty moments

She’s the woman of the moment, Margot Robbie—our Margot. The Queensland-born beauty was the neighbour you grew up with and has certainly come a long way from Ramsay Street. After her break out role in The Wolf of Wall Street in 2013, her star’s been not so much on the rise as catapulted into the Hollywood stratosphere, dominating movie screens and red carpets looking, quite simply, flawless. In anticipation of her next Oscars red-carpet appearance (and with our fingers crossed for her to take home a lil’ golden statue of her own) we’re taking a look back at Robbie’s most memorable red-carpet beauty moments, most of which were created by MUA Pati Dubroff. Yes, we’re crushing hard.

1. A PLUM LIP AT THE SUICIDE SQUAD PREMIERE

A red-carpet appearance for a movie in which you played a villain in calls for a big, bold, vampy lip. We love how striking this plum hue is against Robbie’s pared-back complexion. The brows are strong but not too bold and her skin is fresh with a flush of soft plum to tie the look together.

Lips: Lipstick Queen Velvet Rope in “Entourage”

2. NATURAL-LOOKING LUMINOSITY AT THE 2016 ACADEMY AWARDS

How stunning is this Oscars red-carpet look? The gold gown stole the show but how’s the fresh-faced makeup with skin that looks equal parts luminous and flawless? A soft nude lip, brushed up brows and a complexion dreams are made of…we’re in love.

3. A CLASSIC WING AT THE 2018 CRITIC’S CHOICE AWARDS

We couldn’t go past this look—the graphic black liquid eyeliner matched with a mauve-meets-brown lip and a matte base is simple yet classic. Leaving the cheeks free of colour aside from some soft contouring delivers freshness and brings attention to that liner.

Eyes: Eyeko London Eye Do Liquid Eye Liner
Lips: Hourglass Femme Nude Lip Stylo in ‘No. 6’

4. RETRO CHIC LINER AT THE I, TONYA PREMIERE (UK)

We’re confident that the sale of white eyeliners will sky rocket after this red-carpet appearance. Robbie looks striking in this super-mod, super-simple eye look. The hint of pink of the lips and cheeks is fresh and feminine, but let’s be honest, it’s all about the white-hot liner on her eyelids—amazing.

Eyeliner: Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in ‘Snow’
Hair: Bumble and bumble Brillantine

5. A POP OF YELLOW AT THE CHRISTOPHER RABBIT FILM PREMIERE

Fact: not many people can pull off a canary yellow eye but somehow Robbie makes it look super-chic. Paired with slicked back locks (cuts down on the hair drying time, right?), flushed cheeks and a barely there base—this daring look merged modernity with individuality and softness in one.

If you want to try this look:
Eyes: Urban Decay Full Spectrum Eyeshadow Palette
Blush: Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in ‘Diffused Heat’

6. METALLIC SMOKEY EYES AT THE I, TONYA PREMIERE (LOS ANGELES)

This structured smokey eye is simple but delivers the right amount of drama. We love the cat eye-like shape of the shadow and the perfect addition of a warm nude lip. It’s a darker eye than we’re used to seeing on Robbie but she pulls it off—like she does with virtually every look.

If you want to try this look:
Eyes: By Terry Ombre Blackstar Cream Eyeshadow in Bronze Moon
Lips: Too Faced Sweet Peach Creamy Peach Oil Lip Gloss in ‘Peachiscle’
