THE IN-TRAY

Just landed: April Arrivals

WHAT WE’RE MAD ABOUT, CAN’T GET ENOUGH OF, OR HAVE PEGGED TO HIT CULT STATUS FROM THE STREAM OF NEW PRODUCTS ARRIVING IN STORES THIS MONTH.

Urban Decay Disco Stick

If you were wondering when the long-reigning unicorn trend would peak, this is it: Urban Decay’s Disco Stick. Iridescent? Yep. Otherworldly? You betcha. Will it make my skin look like it’s made of sparkles? 100 percent. This creamy highlighter of pure “unicornness” is also infused with pigments that appear to change colour from different angles. In short, it’s like a light show for your face, and we’re predicting it will be a festival essential.

NARS Highlighting Powder

NARS, the undisputed leader of blush and bronzer, is upping its highlighter offering—and it’s really good. This highlighter is glitter-free—not a sparkle in sight—and all glow. It’s launching in six destination-inspired shades, but we’re particularly fond of Maldives, which is akin to a blush and highlighter in one.

Bobbi Brown Nude Drama Eye Palette

Bobbi Brown creates some laudable stuff for lids, but this palette of warm nudes is next-level. We guarantee you’ll want to dip into all 12 incredibly wearable shades. And with its mix of matte, shimmer and metallic colours, as well as a couple of glitters, all of your shadow needs are met. It’s such an efficient palette, we think even organisational maven Marie Kondo would approve.

bareMinerals Crystalline Glow Palette

This bronzing and illuminating palette is formulated with microfine mineral rose quartz. That’s right, real quartz. So if you’re currently crystal obsessed *raises hand*, you’re going to lose it over this one. We’re currently fixated with applying it wet for an “I am an actual crystal” shine.

Editor's note: This product will now be available in stores and online from May 1st.

Tatcha The Silk Canvas

Chances are you haven’t used a balm primer before (us neither), but the game-changers at Tatcha have just launched this beauty. It comes with a little disc spatula that you glide across the balm to collect a rice-sized amount for massaging into your skin. Yep, one tiny amount is enough to make your whole face feel like silk and prevent your makeup from mixing with your moisturiser.

Playa Pure Dry Shampoo

Inspired by the relaxed Cali lifestyle, Playa is MECCA’s newest hair brand and we are so here for it. First favourite is the Pure Dry Shampoo, a botanical blend that uses rose powder to absorb excess oil from hair (while keeping it nourished at the same time) and star anise, which is a natural antiseptic that eliminates impurities, so it’s ok to use a few days in a row. Plus, it smells utterly dreamy.

Playa Ritual Hair Oil

How to make your hair super-shiny without silicone? Playa’s Ritual Oil. This little blend is composed of all natural oils, including apricot and kukui. Like the dry shampoo, it has a divine scent.
