If you’re working from home and don’t have your screen split with the latest livestream; you’re either
lying, or you’re doing it wrong. So as I worked with Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas’ Pay It Forward
livestream on in the background, I couldn’t help but notice the green-rooted
crooner fidgeting with—and inhaling the aromas of—two very familiar candles.
Like many, our obsession with everything Eilish does and wears is real, so we zoomed in,
de-pixelated and squinted with much intent to unearth the MECCA-stocked candles keeping Eilish and her
family zen during isolation in their Los Angeles home (and soon, you’ll find them in my home too).
It comes as no surprise to us that a Le Labo candle sits atop Eilish’s coffee table. Undeniably cool and
authentic—and a little bit extra—the only surprising factor is that it’s not Santal.
Pin 12 (pin coming from
pine, and 12 from the number of notes in this scent), is a warm and full yet delicate
fragrance, combining aromatic pine woods with musk and amber for a calming aroma that just feels
It’s the perfect scent for iso; by means of aromatherapy, the scent of pine has been shown to reduce stress
and balance your mood.
Quirky luxury (with the quality to back it up) is the very essence of the Fornasetti brand, and
the same could be said about Eilish, whose baggy, gen-z street aesthetic is made up of
one-of-a-kind pieces by Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Chanel and Balenciaga. Her music stacks up to the
same precedent, too.
This unique candle bears the face of Piero Fornasetti’s muse, Lina Cavalieri, an internationally
renowned artist who lived at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries—the window opens to reveal a
smaller picture of the actress, nodding to the relationship between mind and reality (which begs
the question, ‘when
we all fall asleep, where do we go?').
The candle itself features the brand’s signature Otto fragrance; another warm scent, this time
smoky with notes of thyme, lavender, cedarwood, incense, birch and labdanum.
