Staff Rave: Mecca Cosmetica The Enlightened Trio

When we were introduced to the Mecca Cosmetica Enlightened Powder all of our highlighting prayers were answered. In our wildest dreams we never thought our highlighting game could get any better than this rose gold hue. Then, along came this trio and our minds were blown three times over.

“The Enlightened Trio is so versatile. I use it as a highlighter, an eyeshadow and anywhere that needs a little gleam (think: inner corner of the eye, the cupid’s bow, collar bones)...it’s a dream. The slimline palette makes it perfect for slipping into your carry-on (a glow is a non-negotiable on a beach holiday), and the variety of shades means you can deepen up your colour as your (faux) tan develops.

As a makeup artist, this palette is a true staple in my kit. The formula is so pigmented and a little goes a long way. For a subtle wash of colour, I like to apply it using a fan brush—I just sweep it across the cheekbones. But if you want an all-out blinding highlight, I like to use a domed brush—a must-have for seamless blending. The Rae Morris Mini Kabuki Brush is incredible. The density of this brush allows you to be build intensity and dimension for a wet-look highlight. Don’t be afraid to layer the Enlightened Powders, either. Use the Mecca Cosmetica Lit From Within Illuminating Drops as a base and then take your brush thr ough all three and apply to the cheekbones for a Saturday night glow that could rival any disco ball or strobe light.

After the party’s over (or anytime really), the Enlightened Powder is the best, THE BEST, for brightening the inner corners of your eyes. Seriously, I can’t go past it. It makes you look so awake, delivering fresh eight-hours’ sleep vibes. Did I mention you can also use it as an eyeshadow? I did, but I will again. I like to use the darkest shade on my eyelids, it gives a lovely sheen and catches the light—perfect for everyday—or use it wet (add a spritz of setting spray) to glow all out for night.

Wallflowers be warned, this highlighter attracts compliments—it’s a real conversation starter. When I use this baby during makeup applications in-store, people literally stop and stare. It’s got that real wow-factor.”
