Dear D-Bronzi, I owe you an apology. First, let me preface this by saying when Drunk Elephant says jump, I practically levitate. I’m a certified C-Firma addict, I’d cook my food in marula oil if I could, and I’d drink B-Hydra just like my skin does. But when D-Bronzi—Drunk Elephant’s new glow-granting anti-pollution serum—came across my desk I wasn’t ready for you and your bronziness. The winter seemed permanent, my skin was a translucent shade of alabaster and my pre-vacation disposition was equally as bleak. Despite my adoration for all things Drunk Elephant, I skimmed over your instructions, applied you all wrong and instead of taking you on my European getaway, I tucked you away in a drawer. Oh, how wrong I was.
Flash forward to October, the sun is now shining. After a Mediterranean summer I have a whole new mindset and my skin has a newfound glow (despite taking all the necessary SPF precautions, of course). D-Bronzi has since launched and is flying out the door faster than spritzes in Amalfi, while the stellar reviews are flooding in at equal pace. Was I missing something? I decided to dip into D-Bronzi again, this time adding a tiny drop to my Mecca Cosmetica Superscreen SPF 50+. Turns out, it’s designed to be mixed with your skin care, and my face lit up with a healthy, natural glow. Sure, I’d just got back from Italy but this was better, more sustainable and didn’t require any harmful sun exposure and resulting pigmentation. And even though my trip feels like a distant memory, the “you’re so tanned” compliments continue to roll in.
Beyond its glowy exterior, D-Bronzi is packed with antioxidants that protect your skin against free-radicals and environmental pollution. Omega-rich ingredients including marula oil (a hero in the collection), black currant seed oil and fatty acids support your skin’s barrier function and keep it healthy, happy and hydrated—it’s not just a pretty face. It also upholds Drunk Elephant’s “suspicious-6-free” criteria for clean beauty, is vegan and cruelty-free. The glow is really everything though. It makes you look inexplicably better, whether you wear makeup or not. It will have you forgoing foundation in the summertime and slipping it on before Pilates classes. It’s also a great product for men that want to add a little colour to their face—my boyfriend’s been eyeing it too. It’s a secret weapon for looking amazing without doing very much at all.
D-Bronzi…you’re d-best and I’m sorry I ever doubted you.
