A celestial celebration with Diptyque Holiday 2017

Insider real talk: few Outlook meeting requests inspire the kind of feverish clicking of “accept” buttons quite like the Holiday presentation does at MECCA HQ. A true behind-the-scenes perk, this hot-ticket event takes place way back in June and showcases what will be on offer from our favourite brands by the time All I Want for Christmas is on high rotation. Among this year’s most-anticipated presentations? Diptyque’s festive line-up. Cue a breathy canon of “oohs” and “ahhs”, the collective scribbling of notes and wishlists being added to…and a long five-month countdown.

For this year’s Holiday parade of light, the French fragrance house has collaborated with Philippe Baudelocque, a street artist best known for cosmic chalk drawings of constellations that decorate dark walls dotted around Paris and Marseille. Baudelocque’s dreamy, ethereal aesthetic weaves its way through the exclusive line-up, and brings to life the exquisite, evocative fragrance for which Diptyque is so beloved.

As part of ‘Les Constellations’, Baudelocque has depicted three mythological creatures that have each given their names to a constellation—a phoenix, dragon and unicorn. In turn, Diptyque has created three limited-edition scents inspired by these characters: the Hinoki wood-inspired Frosted Forest (the unicorn), Fiery Orange (the dragon), a blend of smokey wood, spices and citrus, and Incense Tears (the phoenix), a warm accord of Frankincense, Myrrh and Cinnamon.

For the Diptyque traditionalist, cult favourites including Baies and Figuier return in collector’s editions for stylish indoor/outdoor living, minis for travelling and chic sets for gifting, including a smart fragrance wardrobe, so you can tailor your scent for every mood and occasion.
