Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Fave for a Reason I really like this product, I think it somewhat deserves its hype, but I probably think that because of its value. Compared to a lot of other highly revered, high-end competitors, you'll find it's much better value when comparing dollars to grams. I also think this does a great job setting my makeup, making it last longer but specifically, making it look like it did when I first applied it for longer amount of times. Creasing also doesn't occur much, only when I apply many layers I see this and it looks quite nice applied on the skin. I was randomly experimenting and tested its capabilities, I dabbed concealer (Too Faced Sculpting) on my hand and blended it a bit, enough so you can see that there is concealer dot there and then I put a good amount of powder on it, it literally did not budge at all after I put it on, really, really harsh scratching started to barely chip away at it but I was definitely impressed when it did that! I am constantly trying to find a powder that looks like I put nothing on, I love a no-makeup makeup look everyday all day, and this does a sufficient job. I also find it's nice in setting my primer and creating a smooth eye base to work with. Only when you overpowder you'll find cakiness starting to seep through. If you find it to look drying on the face, try using less and see how that works for you, though it's quite difficult to get the absolute perfect amount of powder to set it before it goes to the 'too-dry look' zone, actually it's very easy to end up with it looking dry which is a struggle. My other gripes with this powder is it's oil control, this does barely anything keep oils at bay, I have quite an oily t-zone and the many, many times I've used this to powder my face I find it does not do a satisfactory job. Some may find it too mattifying and some may love that, me personally, I always want to go for dewy to satin skin makeup but for the tasks that this powder completes it does a great job. I like it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does not cake, good for maturing skin I can’t believe I am going to say this, but I love this setting powder. I am 40 with dry skin and this does not go cakey or accentuate fine lines! I haven’t ever been able to wear setting powders because none of them took to my skin well, this does! If you’re afraid of powders give this a go, it might surprise you

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best powder ever! This is the second time I’ve bought this product because I genuinely can’t live without it! It lasts forever so you really get your money’s worth ☺️ It doesn’t cause flash back, it settles really nicely on the face and it blends awesomely with products overtop! 10/10 recommend

I have very fair skin and often tend to use the lighted foundation shade. Would the light powder be too dark for me or is it, in fact, translucent with the smallest bit of colour?

Asked by: Grace Alice
I also have very fair skin and use the lightest foundation shade and find that the Laura Mercier Invisible Loose Setting Powder works best. It looks white in the pot but doesn’t show any colour when applied. It is very similar to/has the same benefits as the Translucent Setting Powder but doesn’t change the colour of your face, just reduces shine and sets makeup perfectly! It’s definitely one of the best products I’ve used.

Would this be suitable to use over just a moisturiser or primer if I didn't want to use a foundation?

Asked by: Tams74
I have done this before when I've moisturised and put just a bit of concealer under my eyes, and yes it still sets everything and gives your skin a matte finish. It obviously doesn't last as long as if you were setting a liquid foundation because moisturisers aren't designed to be set, however if you were putting on moisturiser and then a primer you'd be fine using this. Trust me, if this can't set it, nothing can!

does the lighter shade still appear translucent for darker skin tones?

Asked by: jackie23
I watch Jackie aina on YouTube and she’s got a deep complexion. She uses the light shade and has no problems with it. She also did do a review on the dark shade as well if you wanna check that out on YouTube.

I have normal to dry skin (depending on the time of the year) and love this powder I haven’t had any problems but I always exfoliate before applying my makeup.
