Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible skin always No matter what disaster has befallen my face with spots or dryness or sensitivity, when I put this powder on it makes my skin look incredible. It doesn't cover up the huge pimples on my chin, but it makes the rest of my face look so healthy that people regularly compliment my skin regardless. These powders don't flawlessly photoshop, they offer the essence of vitality and that glow that makes any possible flaws in the skin look completely inconsequential. I'm now truly a believer in that glow. I'm fair with a warm undertone and I wouldn't say that Dim Light is universally flattering on the fair or warm spectrums. It's too dark and pink for me, almost a subtle blush if anything. I use Diffused Light and would recommend Ethereal Light to people with cool undertones. Obviously I'm not sure how these would go for deeper skin tones. That's my only major gripe with these powders, and I'm hoping the new formula ambient lighting edit will herald a new generation of powders better suited to a wide spectrum of consumers.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Photoshopped look (in a good way!) This product make you feel so airbrushed and and flawless! Wear it for a party and you will never be afraid that your face will look bad on the pictures! I take one star down because the consultant at the store advised me to take the Dim Light colour, saying it matches everyone (and it looked fine in the store's lights), but turned out to be too dark for me in natural light.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Use this for glowy skin! I was advised to get this in dim light but lucky I took the time to do some research online and found that diffused light is better suited to my Asian skintone. Dim light does darken my complexion. Love the diffused light - the powder is so fine that the glow from the powder is so natural!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gives you a lovely flawless base This is a stunning setting powder that I personally love to use to set my foundation all over my face to give a natural radiance to my look (some people like to use this just as a highlighter) I love a dewy skin look so this is perfect for me & I can never not set my makeup so the fact I can do that without it going fully matte makes this product a life saver! I always get compliments on my skin when I use this too (I use shade Dim Light and wear NARS natural radiant in the shade Barcelona) would definitely recommend this product - worth the money!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice powder but not amazing I love Hourglass products and bought the Ambient Lighting Powders due to all the hype, but am sorry to say that I didn't find them to be that amazing. They are very finely milled so sit beautifully on the skin, however I don't find them to be that special for the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favourite. I really like this powder, I bought it once just to test and I haven’t turned back since. I don’t like using anything else. Personally for me it lives up to all the hype it had when it first came out. I use the shade ‘ethereal light’ and works well on my pale skin. Thanks Mecca!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Makes your skin just glow I bought this to wear over my lquid foundation as it mattifies the skin but still provides a glow. It has a slight shimmer throughout it so when you apply it, it makes your skin look amazing. I find that it helps to smooth and cover imperfections perfectly.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not a setting powder Sold to me as a replacement for my transclucent powder and this is not for that. I use as highlighter. Handy as an eye shadow too.

Which brush would be best for this powder that’s not too heavy handed and makes it softly difused? I’m finding I have patches with darker spots with the brushes I’ve tried.

What is the best finishing powder for my light skin???

Asked by: MaryJohn
I use Diffused Light under my eyes and on the T zone and around the sides of my nose. It's the perfect no colour setting powder, especially if you have lines around the eyes. It gives a beautifully subtle glow and the glitter, although it's there, isn't a glitter as such. It's the only way I can set under my eyes without it looking cakey or like powder. I'd given up powder until I used this. It's simply stunning. I want to get Ethereal Light to try as well. The others are not so much, even if they are beautiful.

Has the formula changed? I had it in the shade ethereal light in the old packaging which was the perfect under eye setting powder but dropped it and broke it. I repurchased it and it has glitter throughout so I can't use it!

I have med-dark warm skin; I match to Nars Sheer Glow - Cadiz and use the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer - Caramel (perfect). Would dim light or golden light be better? I am looking for a natural daytime highlight - NO sparkle or glitter! Thanks!

do you still have the mini/travel version of these powders in stock? Thank you

Asked by: fanta08
Since I've been shopping at mecca I haven't seen mini/travel versions of the hourglass palettes. Unless you mean the holiday editions? Those are usually smaller as they fit 6 powders in a pan. I think they will come out in Australia in a month or 2!

I have light to medium skin (if it helps I'm shade Deauville for Nars Sheer Glow foundation) so which shade would be best for my skin colour?

Asked by: Jadeee34
I guess it depends how you want to use the powder. I'm similar colouring and I used Dim Light more like a setting powder and some of the lighter shades are a very subtle highlight which can be still used all over the face to give a glow. They aren't very glittery which is why is can be so versatile all over the face.
