The MECCA view:
An exfoliating night serum that refines and resurfaces the skin to reveal a smooth, radiant complexion. The AHA and BHA blend gently lifts away dead skin cells, unclogs pores, fades pigmentation and smooths lines and wrinkles.

Key ingredients:
AHA blend: a combination of glycolic, tartaric, lactic and citric acids that will exfoliate dead skin cells to reveal a smooth, bright and even complexion.
Salicylic acid: exfoliates inside the pore to unclog and remove debris.
Raspberry fruit extract: nourishes and soothes skin whilst protecting against environmental aggressors.

Made without:
Animal products, fragrance, silicone, essential oils, drying alcohols, SLS, chemical and synthetic sunscreen.

Pair it with:
Drunk Elephant – C-FirmaTM Day Serum
Drunk Elephant - Lala RetroTM Whipped Cream
Drunk Elephant – Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil

From the shop floor:
“If you have sensitive or easily irritated skin, mix a pump of TLC with a pump of Virgin Marula oil or B-HydraTM serum to dilute the formula and make it more gentle.” – Lucy, retail skincare manager

At night, apply one pump to clean, dry skin. Follow with a moisturiser or oil.
Note: Tingling may be felt during the first few uses. Combat tingling by mixing the serum with an oil or moisturiser or using it every other night. Cease use immediately if tingling is persistent or intense.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from WARNING ROSACEA SUFFERERS: CHEMICAL BURNS PLEASE READ: This is hard for me to review as this product triggered horrific rosacea. The first night I used it- it was AMAZING. cleared my skin all the other stuff. The second time I used it was maybe a week later? This is when I became the ugliest I’ve ever been as the rosacea came and reared its ugly head. I literally had chemical burns. Like the worst I’ve ever had. I was terrified I was going to be mutilated forever. I’m not joking I was extremely scared as about half my face was very very bad. HOWEVER. my skin repaired itself through the use of the rest of their products. I used drunk elephant retinol, Lala retro, c-firma, b-hydra, marula oil and d-bronzi. These items combined allowed my skin to heal the rosacea. Be warned; if you have fair skin and come from Scandinavian background or have rosacea this product can and will disfigure you if you overuse. Test it once first on a patch of skin on your face overnight and then do the entire face. However I do not recommend you use the product again for a while (maybe a month but it depends on your skin) unless your skin is already used to retinol and you use retinol regularly. Always listen to how your skin feels. Please remember this product is a very high intense acidic product and if you suffer from rosacea this can and will give you chemical burns. Be careful. I wish someone had warned me earlier honestly. Now my skin is used to retinol I believe I’m ok with using it again but honestly I’m terrified to touch it. It’s an amazing product but if you have rosacea use retinol for a month first and then use this product as retinol will heal the nerve endings. THEN you can use this product. There should be a warning on the packaging for people with rosacea. I was very disappointed Mecca employees didn’t warn me of this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hands down the best serum I’ve ever used! I recently bought this product and fell instantly in love with it after using it not even longer than a week. Having tried a number of serums over the years, this one actually made a real difference. My skin looks so clear, even, less congested and its texture is significantly better already. What it says on the packaging is spot on - practically better skin over night!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it!! I was recommended this product to use alongside a few others for my pimples which just weren't going away and within a few days my skin was clearing and now 2 weeks later my skin is completely clear!! I love the tingle feeling you can get when applying on a pimple as I feel like it is actually doing something. This absorbs into the skin so well and is not wasted with coming off on your pillowcase. I love this product!!!

Should I notice an immediate improvement? I have tried this product once and didn’t love it (but want to) so I tried again last night and woken up and clogged pores + existing pimples are more noticeable and texture isn’t great. Should I persevere?

Can this be used while pregnant?

Asked by: Ak2018
Just to add the the answer above, the effects of salicylic acid during pregnancy hasn’t been extensively studied. It is thought to be safe in small doses. I’m pregnant and use this product, I’m just careful to not use any other products containing the same acid.

Why is sunscreen recommended daily while using this product?

Asked by: A little confused
Sunscreen should be used everyday regardless. AHAs and BHAs chemically exfoliate the skin, so to sum up they pretty much remove the dead skin layer that sits on top and reveal new, freshly produced skin cells to the surface. You're more likely to suffer from sun damage to your skin because of this so please use sunscreen, it will help with pigmentation as well!

Should I use this product every night? I currently exfoliate 2-3 times a week with chemical swipey pads, if i maintain doing that and introduce the serum into my routine is that too much acid on my skin?

Asked by: hannaho2000
You can use this every night, I use it every night mostly (unless alternating between another active serum) and drunk elephant have confirmed it's safe to use every night. However, you should always listen to your skin and see what it is telling you. If your skin is completely smooth and looking amazing or if you feel like you've over-exfoliated you can give it a skip one night. Since you have already used acids before, your skin won't be too surprised when you introduce this into your routine. Give it a shot! Also saves you $$ if you use only when needed. Good luck!

Will Mecca be stocking the Sukari Babyfacial at any point?

Asked by: jh211
Babyfacial won't be coming to Australia anytime soon as acid concentrations are too high based on our regulatory standards. It's quite upsetting but nothing we can do! :(

do i use this serum on its own or in addition to my normal night routine (ie toner essence facial oil moisturiser)?

Asked by: aishaaznizan
You can definitely use it with your other normal night routine products. I've found that it works great on its own, but it works just as well with other products.

Does this serum help with preventing/helping acne?

Asked by: AEedd
I've had moderate to severe acne for over 9 years (I still have it) and it's left me with pretty horrible scarring. This is one of the only products that has actually helped my skin. It doesn't prevent acne, but I certainly think it helps. It's helped with my scarring so much more than it has with healing my acne. I usually use this all over the face and then spot treat my acne with the Mario Badescu drying lotion. They work so well together.

As AHAs/BHAs are an alternative to a retinoid/retinol product - is it possible to use this product alternatively with a Retinoid product every second day? Or do you recommend using one or the other? Thanks!

Asked by: Ellycia
We would recommend trying them on alternating evenings to begin with. For further information, feel free to pop into your nearest MECCA store and chat with one of our skin specialists, or give our Customer Service team a call on 1800 007 844.
