Rated 5 out of 5 by from Miracle is an understatement! I received a 3.5mL sample when I purchased the La Mer The Eye Concentrate and as soon as it ran out I went to buy a 15mL tub of this amazing cream. I have issues with skin picking, and this cream heals wounds so fast it is unbelievable. Makes your skin feel so soft and supple without leaving any oiliness behind. I have tried so many products in the past, and never have I been so impressed with something as much as this cream has impressed me. The price may be off putting, but it is so worth it! If you are not sure try a smaller sized tub like I did and you will be converted!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from HNNNG SO GOOD Pros: It's luxurious, has a lovely delicate scent, a little goes a long way, and it has definitely improved my skin's texture and appearance. Cons: No cons with the actual product itself, but the price hurts. It IS worth the money. I bought this moisturiser to give my skin the nourishment needed to address my existing skin concerns, and to help with ageing. I do think that if you are going to invest in a product as expensive as this, you should probably go for a toner (at least) and treatment that will compliment it, but that's not to say that it isn't lovely on it's own. I would love to try the other La Mer products, but for now I am using up some SKII prior to moisturising with the La Mer, and my skin has never been better.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worth the splurge After being curious about La Mer and reading so many mixed reviews on the Internet I decided to fork out the money and try this for myself, apon first application I was worried the product would be too heavy for my skin, after following the correct procedure on how to apply it seemed to sit on top of my skin, however I was pleasantly surprised as it didn't take long for the product to melt in and it left my skin feeling wonderful, I have been using this for about a month and I am totally sold, I can't see myself going back to another moisturiser.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Skin Regime for hypersensitive skin I have been skeptical of the claims for a very long time but I have decided at long last after much money is spent in trial and error of every product on the market for sensitive skin, took the advice of Mecca staff and bought the cleanser, toner and treatment essence to start. 8 weeks into this product, I can definitely testify the combination of the 3 has dramatically cleared up old acne marks and put a stop to the monthly breakout routine that I was never able to break. I have subsequently added the La Mer soft cream and the result is superb hydration and tone. I am uncertain if these effects are achievable if the product is used in isolation but with absolutely no reaction to these products, I am completely pleased to say my skincare search is at a halt.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from works wonders I don't listen to all of the hype around the "mirical broth" I'm purely basing my review on how my skin feels. I used to have dry flakey skin and I have tried EVERYTHING but nothing soothed or hydrated my skin until I crawled into Mecca with desperation in my eyes and the lovely sales person gave me a few generous samples of la Mer. Within two days my skin was looking normal! No more dry patches, no more flakes (it was legit like dandruff on my face). I've been through about 3 jars of the stuff in the past 6 months. I will continue to buy la Mer for as long as my skin responds well too it. If other products work well for you and you don't need to spend all the money then I am very happy for you. But if you have truly distressed skin like mine was you need to get a sample of La Mer! (Note: I have tried the original CDLM and I prefer this, it absorbs quicker and feels more moisturising on the skin... I've also tried the gel cream and I love it too, I'm going to buy a jar when it's gets hotter so I have a morning and night time moisturiser)

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Just a moisturiser... I've been using the soft cream for a couple of weeks now; religiously applying every morning and sometimes another layer in the afternoon if I feel dry. I can't say it's worth the hype or price tag. I've used better moisturisers for half the price. It's just a bit of clever marketing (ie the Max Huber story) and pretty packaging that entices customers. However, if you're curious like I was, I recommend you seek a sample of the product to see for yourself. The positive of this product is that the soft cream absorbs better than the original creme (I was using the original creme sample I got upon purchase of the soft cream for several days). I find the soft cream is actually more hydrating because it isn't greasy and is therefore better absorbed by the skin. The staff I've spoken to at Mecca say otherwise, but after using both products, I have to disagree. if you've got very dry skin as I do, you want to opt for the soft cream as absorption is better. So, hydration is a yes but I have yet to see any other results. My skin still looks dull and doesn't feel any firmer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Feels nice. How well it works? Crème De La Mer is the original product created by aerospace physicist Max Huber, as described in the brand summary for La Mer. As enticing as this dramatic story sounds, the reality is that this very basic cream doesn’t contain anything particularly extraordinary or unique, unless you want to believe that seaweed extract (sort of like seaweed tea) can in some way heal burns and scars, but there is no research to support that claim. Even if it could, burns and scars don’t have much to do with wrinkling, and this product is now being sold as a wrinkle cream. According to Susan Brawley, professor of plant biology at the University of Maine, “Seaweed extract isn’t a rare, exotic, or expensive ingredient. Seaweed extract is readily available and [is] used in everything from cosmetics to food products and medical applications.” So why then is this product so expensive? The price really is shocking considering that Crème de la Mer contains mostly seaweed extract, mineral oil, Vaseline, glycerin, wax-like thickening agents, lime extract, plant oils, plant seeds, minerals, vitamins, more thickeners, and preservatives. This rather standard moisturizer also contains some good antioxidants, but the jar packaging won’t keep them stable during use. This also contains a skin-stressing amount of eucalyptus oil, as well as Kathon CG, a preservative that is recommended for use only in rinse-off products. Consumers who have a “steadfast devotion” to this product are not only wasting their money but also hurting their skin.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from La Meh....no more I consider myself a skin care junkie and always on the hunt for my next 'best thing in skin care'. I've always been on the fence and have mixed emotions about trying La Mer...I didn't want to love this because of the price and the hype of La Mer. So after using it for a week I liked it but I wasn't in luuuurve with it or didn't feel it was amazing and didn't use it much. During my last visit in store one of the gorgeous girls at Albert Park suggested I try La Mer Treatment Lotion. So I tried both together last night and woke up this morning my skin looked A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!
